Rashi compatibility for marriage is read from the Moon sign, not the Sun sign. Two rules decide it: the distance between the two Moon signs (bhakoot) and the friendship between their ruling planets (graha maitri). Together they give 12 of the 36 points in kundli matching. Of the 78 possible pairs of rashis, 34 earn the full 12. With varna and vashya, the rashi decides 15 points in all; the other 21 come from the birth nakshatra.
Many families type 'kis rashi ki shadi kis rashi se hogi' — which rashi will marry which — into a search box and get a list of "best three signs" with no rule behind it. Here the Kundli Milan Jyotish team has run all 144 rashi pairs through our own matching engine and written down the reason behind every score.
What "rashi" means in Vedic matching — the Moon sign
In Vedic astrology, "your rashi" is the sign the Moon occupied when you were born. Marriage matching rests on it because the Moon is the karaka (significator) of the mind, and marriage is two minds sharing daily life.
The "Aries" or "Leo" printed in magazines is a Sun sign, and it differs in two ways. The Sun stays in a sign for about a month, the Moon for only about two and a quarter days — so two people born in the same month can share a Sun sign and still have different Moon signs. And Western astrology uses a season-based (tropical) zodiac, while Vedic astrology uses a star-based (sidereal) one; our calculation applies the Lahiri ayanamsha. In this article the English names are only labels for the Vedic Moon signs: Aries means Mesh, Leo means Simha, and so on.
How to find your Moon sign
The reliable way is a birth chart from your date, time and place of birth; the sign holding the Moon is your rashi. A birth time that is off by a few hours usually does not change it. If the time is completely unknown, take care: on roughly 44% of days the Moon changes sign at some hour. In that case our Vivah matching tells you whether the Moon stayed in one nakshatra that day or changed, and if it changed, asks you to match again once the time is found. Your birth nakshatra also gives the rashi. A rashi guessed from the first letter of your name is only an estimate — it holds only if the name was chosen from your birth-nakshatra syllable.
How many of the 36 points come from the rashi
Ashtakoota matching has eight kootas (tests) worth 36 points. To understand 'moon sign compatibility for marriage', start here: only two kootas depend purely on the pair of rashis, whichever sign belongs to the groom.
- Bhakoot — 7 points: the distance between the two Moon signs.
- Graha maitri — 5 points: the friendship between the two sign lords.
These are the two big rashi kootas, and their 12 points are what our chart shows. Varna (1) and vashya (2) are also decided by the Moon sign, but they depend on which sign is the groom's and which the bride's, and vashya splits Sagittarius and Capricorn into halves. The honest summary: the rashi decides 15 of the 36 points, and the other 21 — tara (3), yoni (4), gana (6) and nadi (8) — come from the birth nakshatra.
Bhakoot — the distance rule
Count from your Moon sign to your partner's, taking your own sign as 1, then count back from theirs to yours. Leo is the fifth sign from Aries, and Aries is the ninth from Leo, so Aries–Leo is a 5/9 pair. The two numbers always add up to 14.
| Distance | Name | Bhakoot | Traditional association |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1/1 | Same sign | 7 | Favourable |
| 2/12 | Dwirdwadash | Dosha | Views on money and spending |
| 3/11 | Tri-ekadash | 7 | Favourable |
| 4/10 | Chaturth-dasham | 7 | Favourable |
| 5/9 | Navpancham | Dosha | Children and outlook on life |
| 6/8 | Shadashtak | Dosha | Day-to-day adjustment |
| 7/7 | Samsaptak (facing signs) | 7 | Favourable |
On a dosha distance, bhakoot scores 0 without a cancellation and the full 7 with one. A dosha does not mean a relationship cannot work. Tradition only says the couple will need more understanding in that one area.
Bhakoot dosha cancellation — when the dosha is not counted
Our engine follows the muhurta tradition and applies three cancellations (parihara):
- Both signs have the same lord — Aries–Scorpio (Mars), Taurus–Libra (Venus), Capricorn–Aquarius (Saturn).
- The two sign lords are friends — in our calculation only when graha maitri scores 4 or 5. If either side sees the other as an enemy, there is no cancellation.
- Both birth nakshatras have the same lord — this comes from the nakshatra, so it shows only in a full matching.
The result is worth knowing. Navpancham pairs are always signs of the same element (fire: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, and so on), and the lords within each element are friendly — so all twelve navpancham pairs are cancelled. Of the 36 pairs at a dosha distance, 25 are cancelled by the sign lords alone; only 11 keep bhakoot dosha at the rashi level. Even for those 11, some combination of nakshatras with the same lord exists, and each rashi section names it. If both of you share the very same nakshatra, your nadi is also the same — the full matching weighs that separately.
Graha maitri — friendship of the sign lords
Graha maitri asks how the lord of your Moon sign regards your partner's sign lord — friend, neutral or enemy — and then the same the other way. This natural friendship is given in Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, and it is not always mutual. The Moon counts Mercury as a friend, but Mercury counts the Moon as an enemy, so Cancer with Gemini or Virgo gets only 1 point.
| One way | Other way | Points |
|---|---|---|
| Friend (or same lord) | Friend | 5 |
| Friend | Neutral | 4 |
| Neutral | Neutral | 3 |
| Friend | Enemy | 1 |
| Neutral | Enemy | ½ |
| Enemy | Enemy | 0 |
Read maitri as ease of temperament, not as a measure of love.
Rashi milan chart — all twelve signs at a glance
This rashi milan chart comes straight from our engine: bhakoot 7 + graha maitri 5 = 12. It is symmetric. The last column lists pairs where bhakoot dosha remains at the rashi level; a shared nakshatra lord can still cancel it.
| Rashi (lord) | Full 12 points | 10–11 points | Bhakoot dosha, not cancelled by rashi |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aries (Mars) | Aries, Leo, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Pisces | Cancer (11), Libra (10) | Taurus, Virgo |
| Taurus (Venus) | Taurus, Gemini, Virgo, Libra, Capricorn, Aquarius | Scorpio (10) | Aries, Sagittarius |
| Gemini (Mercury) | Gemini, Taurus, Virgo, Libra | Leo, Capricorn, Aquarius (11) | Cancer, Scorpio |
| Cancer (Moon) | Cancer, Leo | Aries, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Pisces (11) | Gemini, Aquarius |
| Leo (Sun) | Leo, Aries, Cancer, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Pisces | Gemini, Virgo (11) | Capricorn |
| Virgo (Mercury) | Virgo, Taurus, Gemini, Libra | Leo, Capricorn, Aquarius (11) | Aries |
| Libra (Venus) | Libra, Taurus, Gemini, Virgo, Capricorn, Aquarius | Aries (10) | Scorpio, Pisces |
| Scorpio (Mars) | Scorpio, Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, Pisces | Cancer (11), Taurus (10) | Gemini, Libra |
| Sagittarius (Jupiter) | Sagittarius, Aries, Leo, Scorpio, Pisces | Cancer (11), Aquarius (10) | Taurus, Capricorn |
| Capricorn (Saturn) | Capricorn, Taurus, Libra, Aquarius | Gemini, Virgo (11), Pisces (10) | Leo, Sagittarius |
| Aquarius (Saturn) | Aquarius, Taurus, Libra, Capricorn | Gemini, Virgo (11), Sagittarius (10) | Cancer, Pisces |
| Pisces (Jupiter) | Pisces, Aries, Leo, Scorpio, Sagittarius | Cancer (11), Capricorn (10) | Aquarius, Libra |
Any sign not named in a row scores 7 to 8 — full bhakoot, low maitri. Each section below ends with a hint about the spouse from the seventh sign counted from the Moon; the full picture comes from the seventh house from the ascendant, Venus, Jupiter and the navamsha.
Aries (Mesh) — best rashi match for marriage
Aries is ruled by Mars. The full 12 points come with Aries, Leo, Scorpio, Sagittarius and Pisces. Leo and Sagittarius sit at 5/9, but Mars is a firm friend of the Sun and Jupiter, so the dosha is cancelled. Scorpio is 6/8, yet both signs belong to Mars. Pisces is 2/12, but Jupiter is Mars' friend.
Cancer gives 11: Mars treats the Moon as a friend, the Moon treats Mars as neutral. Libra, the facing sign, gives 10. Gemini, Capricorn and Aquarius give 7.5 — full bhakoot, half a point of maitri.
Pairs with bhakoot dosha: Taurus (2/12; Mars and Venus are neutral, 3 points) and Virgo (6/8; Mars treats Mercury as an enemy, ½). These scores are out of 12, not 36. In a full matching, if both partners in an Aries–Taurus pair are born in Krittika — or an Aries partner in Krittika meets a Virgo partner in Uttara Phalguni, both ruled by the Sun — the dosha is cancelled.
The spouse's nature: the seventh sign from Aries is Libra, ruled by Venus — a partner who values grace, balance and fairness, and brings calm to Aries' quick pace. The full matching decides.
Taurus (Vrishabh) — best rashi match for marriage
Taurus is ruled by Venus, whose friends are Mercury and Saturn. Taurus, Gemini, Virgo, Libra, Capricorn and Aquarius — six signs — give the full 12. Gemini (2/12) and Virgo (5/9) belong to Mercury and Capricorn (5/9) to Saturn, so friendship cancels all three. Libra is 6/8, but both signs belong to Venus. Aquarius sits at a favourable 4/10 with a Venus–Saturn maitri of 5.
Scorpio, the facing sign, gives 10. Cancer and Pisces give 7.5, because Venus treats the Moon as an enemy and Jupiter treats Venus as one. Leo gives 7: a good distance, but the Sun and Venus are mutual enemies.
Pairs with bhakoot dosha: Aries (2/12, 3 points) and Sagittarius (6/8, ½). Krittika spans both Aries and Taurus; if both partners are born in Krittika, the full matching cancels the Aries–Taurus dosha. A Taurus partner in Krittika and a Sagittarius partner in Uttara Ashadha share the Sun as nakshatra lord, which cancels that one too.
The spouse's nature: the seventh sign is Scorpio, ruled by Mars — a partner who bonds deeply, stays firm inside and stands by their word. The full matching decides.
Gemini (Mithun) — best rashi match for marriage
Gemini is ruled by Mercury. The full 12 points come with Gemini, Taurus, Virgo and Libra. Virgo shares the same lord at a favourable 4/10. Taurus (2/12) and Libra (5/9) belong to Venus, and Mercury and Venus are mutual friends.
Three pairs give 11. Leo sits at 3/11; Mercury treats the Sun as a friend, the Sun treats Mercury as neutral. Capricorn (6/8) and Aquarius (5/9) belong to Saturn, which treats Mercury as a friend while Mercury treats Saturn as neutral — enough to cancel. Aries, Sagittarius and Pisces give 7.5, because Mars and Jupiter both treat Mercury as an enemy.
Pairs with bhakoot dosha: Cancer (2/12, 1 point) and Scorpio (6/8, ½). With Cancer, the Moon counts Mercury as a friend, but Mercury counts the Moon as an enemy, and a one-sided friendship does not cancel the dosha. Yet Punarvasu spans both signs; if both partners are born in Punarvasu, the full matching cancels it. A Gemini partner in Punarvasu and a Scorpio partner in Vishakha, both ruled by Jupiter, cancel the other.
The spouse's nature: the seventh sign is Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter — a principled, open-minded partner who enjoys learning, teaching and travel, and gives Gemini's quick mind a direction. The full matching decides.
Cancer (Kark) — best rashi match for marriage
Cancer is ruled by the Moon. The Moon treats no planet as an enemy, but its only friends are the Sun and Mercury — and Mercury does not return the friendship. So Cancer earns the full 12 with just two signs: Cancer and Leo. Leo is 2/12, but the Moon and the Sun are mutual friends.
Cancer's real strength is its four 11-point pairs: Aries, Scorpio, Sagittarius and Pisces. Mars and Jupiter treat the Moon as a friend, and the Moon treats them as neutral — a maitri of 4. Scorpio and Pisces are at 5/9 and Sagittarius at 6/8, yet this friendship cancels the dosha. Virgo gives 8; Taurus, Libra and Capricorn give 7.5.
Pairs with bhakoot dosha: Gemini (2/12, 1 point) and Aquarius (6/8, ½ — Saturn treats the Moon as an enemy). The full matching cancels it if both partners in a Cancer–Gemini pair are born in Punarvasu, or if a Cancer partner in Punarvasu meets an Aquarius partner in Purva Bhadrapada, both ruled by Jupiter. Even without a cancellation, this is 7 points out of 36.
The spouse's nature: the seventh sign is Capricorn, ruled by Saturn — a responsible, practical partner who commits slowly but firmly. The full matching decides.
Leo (Simha) — best rashi match for marriage
Leo is ruled by the Sun, whose friends are the Moon, Mars and Jupiter. Leo, Aries, Cancer, Scorpio, Sagittarius and Pisces all earn the full 12. Aries and Sagittarius are at 5/9, Cancer at 2/12, Pisces at 6/8 — but each time the other lord is the Sun's friend. Scorpio sits at a favourable 4/10.
Gemini and Virgo give 11: Mercury treats the Sun as a friend, the Sun treats Mercury as neutral.
One feature is special to Leo. With the signs of Venus and Saturn, maitri drops to zero, because the Sun and these two planets regard each other as enemies. So Taurus, Libra and Aquarius score 7 despite full bhakoot.
Pair with bhakoot dosha: only Capricorn (6/8, zero maitri, 0 points). It is the lowest score in the chart, yet still only 12 of the 36 points. If the Leo partner is born in Uttara Phalguni and the Capricorn partner in Uttara Ashadha — both ruled by the Sun — the full matching cancels the dosha.
The spouse's nature: the seventh sign is Aquarius, ruled by Saturn — an independent, friend-like partner who values equality and personal space. The full matching decides.
Virgo (Kanya) — best rashi match for marriage
Virgo is also ruled by Mercury, but the distances change. The full 12 points come with Virgo, Taurus, Gemini and Libra. Taurus (5/9) and Libra (2/12) belong to Venus, Mercury's mutual friend. Gemini sits at 4/10 and shares the same lord.
Leo (2/12), Capricorn (5/9) and Aquarius (6/8) give 11, each cancelled by a maitri of 4. Cancer gives 8; Scorpio, Sagittarius and Pisces give 7.5. All of these have full bhakoot; only maitri is low.
Pair with bhakoot dosha: only Aries (6/8, ½ — Mars treats Mercury as an enemy). If the Virgo partner is born in Uttara Phalguni and the Aries partner in Krittika, both nakshatras are ruled by the Sun, and the full matching cancels the dosha.
The spouse's nature: the seventh sign is Pisces, ruled by Jupiter — a gentle, compassionate partner with faith and imagination. Virgo brings order; Pisces brings forgiveness. The full matching decides.
Libra (Tula) — best rashi match for marriage
Libra is Venus' second sign. Libra, Taurus, Gemini, Virgo, Capricorn and Aquarius give the full 12. Taurus is 6/8 but shares the lord Venus. Gemini (5/9) and Virgo (2/12) are cancelled because Mercury is Venus' friend, Aquarius (5/9) because Saturn is. Capricorn sits at 4/10 with a maitri of 5.
Aries, the facing sign, gives 10. Cancer and Sagittarius give 7.5, and Leo gives 7, because Venus and the Sun are mutual enemies.
Pairs with bhakoot dosha: Scorpio (2/12, 3) and Pisces (6/8, ½). Vishakha spans both Libra and Scorpio; if both partners are born in Vishakha, the full matching cancels the dosha. A Libra partner in Vishakha and a Pisces partner in Purva Bhadrapada, both ruled by Jupiter, cancel the other.
The spouse's nature: the seventh sign is Aries, ruled by Mars — an energetic, direct partner who takes the first step. Libra weighs every side; an Aries-like partner gives the courage to decide. The full matching decides.
Scorpio (Vrishchik) — best rashi match for marriage
Scorpio is Mars' second sign. The full 12 points come with Scorpio, Aries, Leo, Sagittarius and Pisces. Aries is 6/8 but shares the lord Mars. Sagittarius (2/12) and Pisces (5/9) are cancelled because Mars and Jupiter are mutual friends. Leo sits at 4/10, and Mars and the Sun are full friends.
Cancer gives 11 — a 5/9 pair cancelled by a maitri of 4. Taurus, the facing sign, gives 10. Virgo, Capricorn and Aquarius give 7.5.
Pairs with bhakoot dosha: Libra (2/12, 3) and Gemini (6/8, ½). Both hinge on the sign lords — Mars and Venus are neutral to each other, and Mars treats Mercury as an enemy. The full matching cancels the dosha if both partners in a Scorpio–Libra pair are born in Vishakha, or if a Scorpio partner in Vishakha meets a Gemini partner in Punarvasu, both ruled by Jupiter.
The spouse's nature: the seventh sign is Taurus, ruled by Venus — a calm, patient partner who fills the home with comfort. The full matching decides.
Sagittarius (Dhanu) — best rashi match for marriage
Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter. The full 12 points come with Sagittarius, Aries, Leo, Scorpio and Pisces. Aries and Leo are at 5/9 — the same fire element, with Mars and the Sun both Jupiter's friends. Scorpio is 2/12, but Mars is a friend. Pisces sits at 4/10 with the same lord.
Cancer gives 11 — a 6/8 pair, but Jupiter treats the Moon as a friend and the Moon treats Jupiter as neutral. Aquarius gives 10: a favourable 3/11, with Jupiter and Saturn neutral. Gemini, Virgo and Libra give 7.5, because Jupiter treats Mercury and Venus as enemies.
Pairs with bhakoot dosha: Capricorn (2/12, 3) and Taurus (6/8, ½). Uttara Ashadha spans both Sagittarius and Capricorn; if both partners are born in it, the full matching cancels the dosha. A Sagittarius partner in Uttara Ashadha and a Taurus partner in Krittika, both ruled by the Sun, cancel the other.
The spouse's nature: the seventh sign is Gemini, ruled by Mercury — a talkative, curious, cheerful partner who enjoys anything new. Even so, Gemini scores only 7.5 with Sagittarius: attraction and points are different things. The full matching decides.
Capricorn (Makar) — best rashi match for marriage
Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, whose friends are Mercury and Venus. The full 12 points come with Capricorn, Taurus, Libra and Aquarius. Taurus is 5/9, cancelled by Venus' friendship. Libra sits at 4/10. Aquarius is 2/12, but both signs belong to Saturn.
Gemini (6/8) and Virgo (5/9) give 11: Saturn treats Mercury as a friend, Mercury treats Saturn as neutral. Pisces gives 10 — a favourable 3/11, with Saturn and Jupiter neutral. Aries, Cancer and Scorpio give 7.5.
Pairs with bhakoot dosha: Sagittarius (2/12, 3) and Leo (6/8, 0). With Leo, the traditional enmity of the Sun and Saturn also takes maitri to zero — yet this is still a third of the 36. The full matching cancels the dosha if both partners in a Capricorn–Sagittarius pair are born in Uttara Ashadha, or if a Capricorn partner in Uttara Ashadha meets a Leo partner in Uttara Phalguni, both ruled by the Sun.
The spouse's nature: the seventh sign is Cancer, ruled by the Moon — a caring, emotional partner deeply tied to home and family. The full matching decides.
Aquarius (Kumbh) — best rashi match for marriage
Aquarius is Saturn's second sign, with a different list. The full 12 points come with Aquarius, Taurus, Libra and Capricorn. Taurus sits at 4/10 with a Venus–Saturn maitri of 5. Libra is 5/9 and cancelled. Capricorn is 2/12, but shares the same lord.
Gemini (5/9) and Virgo (6/8) give 11, both cancelled by the Saturn–Mercury maitri of 4. Sagittarius gives 10; Aries and Scorpio give 7.5. Leo, the facing sign, has full bhakoot, but the Sun and Saturn are enemies, so the total is 7.
Pairs with bhakoot dosha: Pisces (2/12, 3) and Cancer (6/8, ½). Purva Bhadrapada spans both Aquarius and Pisces; if both partners are born in it, the dosha is cancelled. An Aquarius partner in Purva Bhadrapada and a Cancer partner in Punarvasu, both ruled by Jupiter, cancel the other in the full matching.
The spouse's nature: the seventh sign is Leo, ruled by the Sun — a confident, generous partner who lives with dignity and values respect. Their rashi score of 7 only means each must respect the other's space and pride. The full matching decides.
Pisces (Meen) — best rashi match for marriage
Pisces is Jupiter's second sign. The full 12 points come with Pisces, Aries, Leo, Scorpio and Sagittarius. Aries (2/12, Mars a friend), Leo (6/8, the Sun a friend) and Scorpio (5/9, Mars a friend) are all cancelled. Sagittarius sits at 4/10 with the same lord.
Cancer gives 11 — a 5/9 pair cancelled by a maitri of 4. Capricorn gives 10 — a favourable 3/11. Taurus, Gemini and Virgo give 7.5.
Pairs with bhakoot dosha: Aquarius (2/12, 3) and Libra (6/8, ½). With Aquarius, the dosha is cancelled if both partners are born in Purva Bhadrapada; with Libra, if a Pisces partner in Purva Bhadrapada meets a Libra partner in Vishakha, both ruled by Jupiter. Only the fourth quarter of Purva Bhadrapada falls in Pisces, so this applies to fewer people; for the rest, the 21 nakshatra points and the full chart carry the decision.
The spouse's nature: the seventh sign is Virgo, ruled by Mercury — a practical, orderly partner with a spirit of service. The full matching decides.
Simple remedies if bhakoot dosha remains
If bhakoot dosha remains after a full matching, each partner can chant the seed mantra of their own Moon-sign lord — one mala (108 times) a day for at least 43 days without a break. For a Leo–Capricorn couple, the Leo partner chants the Sun's mantra and the Capricorn partner Saturn's:
'Om Hraam Hreem Hraum Sah Suryaya Namah'
'Om Praam Preem Praum Sah Shanaishcharaya Namah'
On Mondays, worship Shiva and Parvati together and chant:
'Om Namah Shivaya'
A remedy is support, not a guarantee. Do not wear a gemstone on the strength of your rashi alone — show your full chart to a knowledgeable astrologer first, because the stone of a planet that needs calming can work against you.
The full matching decides — our Vivah Kundli Milan
If you came here looking for 'rashi milan for marriage', the next step is both full charts. The Kundli Milan Jyotish team's Vivah Kundli Milan takes both partners' date, time and place of birth and looks at all of this together:
- All 36 ashtakoota points, with the reason for each koota.
- Bhakoot and nadi dosha with their classical cancellations — including the shared-nakshatra-lord rule that no rashi chart can show.
- Manglik dosha, both full charts, and marriage timing — the shared window in both partners' dashas and Jupiter's transit.
The verdict never rests on the 36 points alone: 38 calculations are weighed by their classical importance. Our report never tells a couple not to marry; where something is weak, it gives the remedy and suggests a talk with a knowledgeable astrologer. After payment, the full result opens on the site right away, and the full report comes as a PDF.
Already married, and your rashis fall in one of the harder pairs above? Then see the Pati-Patni Kundli Milan. It reads temperament, Mars, the seventh house, Venus and Jupiter, the Moon (mind), speech, your current dasha and Saturn's transit, and gives remedies with a weekly routine.
Frequently asked questions
Which rashi is best for marriage?
No single rashi is best for everyone. At the rashi level, the best pairs are the 34 that earn the full 12 points of bhakoot and graha maitri. Taurus, Leo and Libra have the longest lists (six signs each), Cancer the shortest (two). But 21 of the 36 points come from the nakshatra, and varna and vashya also depend on who is the groom, so the full matching has the final word.
Can we marry if our rashis have bhakoot dosha?
Yes. Bhakoot dosha concerns 7 of the 36 points, and the texts give its cancellation — the same sign lord, friendly sign lords, or the same nakshatra lord. Even without one, the decision weighs the other kootas, manglik status, the seventh house and the dasha. Our report never advises a couple against marriage.
Is rashi matching done by Moon sign or Sun sign?
Vedic matching uses only the Moon sign. The magazine Sun sign belongs to Western astrology and is fixed by your month of birth. The Moon is the karaka of the mind and changes sign every two and a quarter days, so 'moon sign compatibility' describes how two minds fit far more finely.
Can I check rashi compatibility by name?
A name's first letter gives an estimate of the rashi through the avakahada chakra, but only if the name was chosen from the birth-nakshatra syllable. Otherwise the "name rashi" and the real Moon sign can differ. If you know the date of birth, match by that.
Our rashis match well but the total gunas are low — what now?
This happens often: the rashi part gives the full 12, but nadi or gana scores low. Look at which koota is weak and whether a classical cancellation applies — nadi has its own. If you are wondering which rashi is good for marriage, remember that manglik status, the seventh house and the dasha are weighed too.
How many points do two people of the same rashi get?
With the same rashi, bhakoot (1/1) and graha maitri (same lord) give the full 12, and varna and vashya are usually full too — 15 of the 15 rashi points. In Sagittarius or Capricorn, vashya can drop if the two Moons sit in different halves. The remaining 21 depend on the nakshatras. If your nakshatras differ but your nadi is the same, a partial cancellation applies. The same rashi is a good start, not the final answer.
